Studio Calico Week 10

There has been a lot of talk about the Studio Calico Project Life kits - whether they are worth the money, why there is such a big queue, the ridiculous prices people are paying for them on ebay etc.
I didn't order or waitlist for these kits -  think I have enough supplies to last me a LONG time - but.....one of the FB girls posted that she had the January and February kits and was going digital so wanted to sell them.  Timing was on my side and I purchased them.  Week 10 I decided I would use some of the February kit as follows:
Left hand side - Flair button on title (together with a doilie from a doilie swap in the PL group), filler cards and combination of a 4x6 (reverse) and journal card.

Continued on the right hand side - love the wood veneer filler card, which I also added washi and flair button from the kit to.

So....what do I think of the kit?  Well, I still have a lot to use - the kit is designed to be enough for a whole month - and while I like most of the contents, I can't say that I think it's good value.  It is nice to have some different items though.

As you can see, I bought a MacBook in Week 10 - next step is to learn how to use PSE11 so I can add 'stuff' to my photos and be a bit more creative......will see in coming weeks if that is the case.

The two page spread looks like this:

Busy busy Week 9

Hi again,
Week 9 had lots going on - for all of us.
My left hand page was brightened with a Black 'Sparkle' from Kaisercraft added to the title page....starting to struggle to make the title pages different from each other now.
This time of year the mornings start to be a struggle....as seen by the fact that when we got into the car Monday morning the sky was still dark and the moon shone brightly!
The 'Capture the Moment' filler card was made by Julie Hughes and received as part of a card swap on the PL Australia/NZ FB page.  Thanks Julie!

Another great wood veneer starts the right hand page, together with my first attempt at a "collage" - I loved all the action shots of Patrick practicing his tennis and this was the easiest way to include a few of them.

The Papercraft Expo was on in Melbourne and I went and picked up my special order from Craft House as well as some more wood veneers (!) and some Technique Tuesday stamps (which I still have to use).  It was great to meet David and Mary and also Michelle Stokes - a fellow member of the Australia/NZ PL FB group.
I had some extra photos from the Expo so used a 'Flip It' envelope. My only whinge is that you can see the taped section on the reverse side.

Here is the week together.

Thanks for looking at my pages,
Amanda

And here's Week 8

Hi, and thanks for visiting.
Week 8 crept up very quickly.  Hubby and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary and I was surprised by a delivery of yellow roses - my absolute favourites.....so of course a photo was required and the card made it onto the left hand side too (but don't ask what brand the potty people are on the card - I bought them at a garage sale and thats as much as I know).
The 'TODAY' card is from the Echo Park Photo Freedom - Volume 1 range (I did have another card in till I got this range in week 10 and decided a swap was in order).
The 'neat' filler card was another I bought from Cath Dean - they just go so easily with the Seafoam kit.
And, of course, there are more wood veneers and another flair - and again this is a design from Greatest View on Etsy.

The right hand side is pretty simple - some surprise photos of the boys enjoying themselves, the "lion" that was at our local town centre, and another beautiful sunset. At this time of year they are pretty spectacular and constantly changing in colour and intensity.

Here is the full week spread:

Happy scrapping,

Loving Week 7

Yes, Valentine's Day in week 7 and love was all around.
I had bought some wood veneers in week 6, along with some handmade filler cards and just had to include some of each in my Week 7 layout.
The wood veneers are by Studio Calico although I bought them from a couple of Australian online stores and via a FB sale site.  As with  lot of PL supplies, you see other people using them and just can't help but want to use them yourself!
So....the left hand side....still happy with the approach to my title card.  The "Swell" filler card I bought from another member of the PL Australia/NZ group - thanks Cath Dean!
I also made my own filler card for Valentines Day......using a couple of different washi tapes and heart punches (cant remember the large heart brand but the white and red hearts are using a Stampin Up heart punch) and a lovely flair from Greatest View -  a great little shop on Etsy.

The right hand side really focused on our weekend fun - hot days means time in the pool to cool off.....and an opportunity to use another wood veneer or two...or more!

Although it wasn't intentional, i love that this week started with a sunrise and ended with a sunset.  Love the colour they add to the pages.  Here are the two pages together:
