Hi,
I'm Amanda - wife, mother, project manager and a mad scrapper!
Although I am a proud Kiwi, I have called Melbourne, Australia home for about 30 years.
I started scrapping almost 12 years ago, when I was invited to a Kaszazz scrapping workshop. From there I learnt a few techniques, got brave enough to try things on my own and then I was off. My 'traditional' scrapbooking is quite clean and simple. I'm not a vintage, grunge, or girly scrapper, although I can and do appreciate the skills that these require.
About 7 years ago I found, by accident, a site about Project Life scrapbooking - it was still fairly new in Australia at that time, meaning only one NZ stockist for product. I found an Australian Facebook group for PL, and about two months later someone local to me posted that they were selling all their PL supplies - unused obviously. I bought it all and since then I have scrapped years and years worth of photos.
About 5 years ago I came across Ali Edwards, and the various projects she does. I love, love, love what she does. Clean, simple, getting stories told, using photos to tell the story with products supporting the photos - not the other way around.
While I don't have as much time as I'd like these days to scrap, it is still something I would rather spend my free time doing (unless I have a book I want to finish). Our family PL books are still "up to date" and I am concentrating on finishing travel albums.
